DFW | April 2009 | 13R Arrivals

One early morning in April I headed over to the China Air Cargo parking lot to see what was arriving on 13R (the west diagonal). I was hoping to catch some arriving cargo aircraft but mistimed heading over there but got good compensation when the morning Sun Country 737-800 flight arrived from Minneapolis late. It usually comes in much earlier.

This particular aircraft, N811SY, wears special markings on the nose celebrating the 25th anniversary of Sun Country's operations. She was built in July 2007 was originally to have been delivered to Delta but wasn't taken up and picked up by Sun Country instead.

I thought it a bit unusual that its spoilers were still deployed long after landing.

Second treat on that side that morning, a NWA Airlink (operated by Compass Airlines) Embraer ERJ-175LR that had just arrived coincidentally, from Minneapolis as well. Probably was tailing the Sun Country flight every step of the way that arrived just before it! This aircraft was built and delivered to Compass in January 2008.
